Subject: 990517 Pre-Flight Brief Mission #1-3

Pre Flight Brief for 142nd Fighter Squadron, 55th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force. Date is 990517, Time on deck is 1900 hours. (Be in squadron chat at this time to attend.)

We are assigned to fly the British Spitfire IXC on a close escort mission. We will take off from an airfield in the British Islands and will formup in the Finger Four formation with the bombers. Our target is somewhere on the coast of occupied France.

Time of eng start will be 0430. Taxi time is 0440 and take off begins at 0500. This is a dawn mission so the visibility will not be the greatest so watch who you shoot at.

Enemy turnout is predicted to be small but will be seasoned pilots so watch your six. Maintain radio silence to the target and call out bandits as soon as visual contact is made. Once visual is made, flight lead will call out targets. Ensure that you take your target and only your target. Once he is eliminated, reform up on your flight lead. When you are back in formation with your flight lead, he will designate another target to you. This way our flight will not be spread out all over the place. Stay in formation until the command ENGAGE is given.

There will be no load out during this mission.

If there are any comments from the CO, he will reply to this message with a subject line ="COMMENTS FROM CO". If there are any questions about this mission, reply to this message with the subject line ="QUESTION". I will check for questions and address any additional information during the "taxi brief" (In chat).

Good luck gentlemen. The sky isn't the limit for us!
