Subject: Breezing Limitless Time & Flawless

Brandon gave me a leg up into Limit's saddle. I gathered the reins as the colt danced sideways, kicking out his hindlegs and jerking the reins. Brandon released his hold on the reins and the black colt broke into an arupbt canter. I found my seat and collected the 2 y/o. "Behave!" I muttered, slowing him to a bouncy trot. We circled the oval a few times, warming up, and then I turned the glistening black and we loaded into a starting chute. He tossed his head anxiously. "Shh, it's ok baby," I murmered, rubbing his silky neck. I crouched low, ready for the break. Suddenly the gates slammed open and Limit sprang onto the track, erupting into a powerful gallop. I breezed him a full 4 furlongs, urging him faster along the rail. He ran with powerful strides, eating up the distance. We swept around the half mile marker and I tugged on the reins, dropping back into the saddle. Limitless slowed reluctantly to a trot, still wanting to run. He wasn't even tired. I posted back to Brandon and rode off the track. I dismounted and handed the reins to Melanie. "Cool him off," I said. She handed me Flawless's reins and I swung up on the mare's back. The Thoroughbred filly pranced onto the track, arching her neck & chewing the bit. I rose out of the saddle and we cantered around the oval, warming up. Then I trotted into a gate position and crouched, waiting for the gates to fly open. I was going to do 6 furlongs. With a loud bang the gates flew open and Flawless erupted into a gallop. She pounded over the dirt, breezing along smoothly next to the rail. Her muscles bunched & released powerful beneath her glossy coat, her slender legs churned up dust, her nostrils flared pink as she bolted down the track. We flashed around the turn and I shortened the reins. She leaned against the bit, increasing her gallop. Finally I pulled her up and we jogged back to Brandon.
