Date Posted: Tue, September 01 2015, 15:43:16 Just got back from some wonderful naturist holidays, based in Plakias (Southern Crete). This wasn't our first time in plakias, but no matter how many times you go, you still want to visit again! The beach in Plakias is wonderful. The naturist part is huge, and so "professional". Everyone behaves themselves and the atmosphere is so relaxed -this is an ideal place both for the first timer and the experienced. Close to Plakias is Ammoudaki beach, truly amazing, even better than Plakias! Excellent snorkeling, excellent clean waters, relaxed atmosphere. Only (small) issue that it is about 70-80% naturist (not 100%) due to the fact that there are some Greek textiles (some of them locals), both couples and female singles that spoil a bit the atmosphere. As the captain notes, it is important that more naturists visit the place so that our voice is loud and clear! There are so many other places for textiles- this beach must remain naturist! We visited Triopetra but found that it's not really a good spot: This is a VERY VERY windy place, so the sea is quite rough and you cannot place an umbrella. There is some shade on the rocks at the far end, but we were joined by some Greek textile family again, and did only encounter one more naturist couple (from Italy). Whole beach had just 3 or 4 couples, as If it was deserted. Fylaki beach (below Vritomartis hotel, close to Sfakia) : Amazing place. This is an official nudist beach, so everyone has to be nude: One young lady was there with her friends (Greek origin) fully clothed, they were asked by the supervising lady to either undress or leave the beach! Overall excellent experience, ideal place for snorkelling as well! Final note: Palaiochora is still the best for me (as the village is better than Plakias) but if I had to split the days I would definitely split them between Palaiochora, Sfakia just a couple of days(to be close to Fylaki) and Plakias! Crete is amazing and worth visiting! It was my 4th visit and still look forward to the next!Hope above info helps. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
