I would caveat my comments by saying that I had to visit 3 weeks in advance due to work commitments. My visit therefore in the middle of the Greek summer holidays. Good News- If you visited Lageri from the church at 7.00 am of a morning you would see little difference- perhaps the odd new whitewashed house on the slopes but no great development. I visited on Wednesday 16th & Tuesday 22nd August. Approach was the road from Naoussa skirting the bay.( Alstom building a new power station adjacent to the old). On arrival beach busy as you would expect (see my caveat above).Quite a few textiles but they mixed happily with nudists . I would say 60 / 40 in favour of textiles on the Wednesday and 50/50 this Tuesday. Slightly more males than mixed couples. The boats were not running on Wednesday due to high winds- not sure about Tuesday. Approach road by the farm was not ultra busy with cars and bikes parked everywhere. Taking my spot about1/3 down the beach from the church end I was surprised by the number of people down at the far end - families all textiles with parasols and the usual paraphernalia. The last 1/3rd of the beach ( beyond the low wall and long present adjacent building) was occupied and I could see no nudists- in fact I would have felt embarrassed by stripping off there. Such a change from last year when ( in mid September) you could have much of this section of the beach to yourself when the boats did not run. This situation concerned me given that no boats were running, there were not a lot of cars on the farm road and I could not see families carrying all their stuff all the way along the beach- even if they were unconcerned about a few naked bodies. So I set out to investigate. Continued on next mail. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
