sometimes you just have to let yourself have it... if you have one Big Mac once in a blue moon, it won't completely ruin your diet -- AND, if you eat it and feel worse, perhaps you'll remember that next time you're craving it.

I think that if you absolutely deny yourself what you've been accustomed to, it's liable to turn into an obsession. If you continue to deny yourself a Big Mac, eventually at every meal you won't be able to think about anything else but that Big Mac. But if you go "ok, i've been really good, i can have one cheeseburger today", you'll probably eat it and think 'hmmm, not as tasty as i remember', and you'll be less likely to crave it next time.

Sadly, this doesn't work with ice cream and chocolate. I haven't figured that one out yet.
