A couple of suggestions:

My husband and I buy these low-sugar chocolate bars (not nutrisweet added, just super dark chocolate, like Rainforest brand). We break off just one or two squares each, to satisfy that chocolate/sweet craving at night. The overall calorie hit isn't too bad.

For ice cream, I buy the Dreyer's no sugar added vanilla, and have a half cup of that with fresh (or frozen, depending on the season) berries or bananas. Sometimes I splurge and have a little chocolate sauce on it, but I don't buy that very often cause it calls to me from the fridge. We also specifically went out and bought *little* bowls just for ice cream, so even without measuring we don't serve ourselves more than about a half cup.

It's not perfect, but little things help!

As for cravings in general, I learned through weight watchers that the best thing to do is have some of what you want -- just try not to have all of it. Sometimes I give in and go to a fast food place, and discover halfway through my french fries that they really don't taste all that good, so I shove them back in the bag with garbage on top of them so I can't change my mind :-). Of course, other times I just eat them all, but then I won't crave them again for a few weeks so it's ok.

Not to sound like a WW spokesperson, but the great thing about the program is there isn't ANYTHING you can't eat -- you just have to account for it. You can blow you whole day's points in one meal, then eat veggies for the rest of the day (not recommended). But you can also recover by eating just a couple of points less for the next few days. That's what makes it a viable long-term eating style, rather than a "diet".
