Subject: How can you tell your if your dogs pregnant

Her nipples are bigger and her uterise is thicker. She is digging a big hole. I'm only 13 year old girl and really wanna know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also she got "tied" 3 times by the same dog. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recently she started biting herself on her rear leg. Soon there were open sores where she was biting herself. Now she has done this to her other back leg and has started on a front leg. I gave her a flea bath even though there were no fleas visible. I was putting benadryl cream on her to keep her from gnawing at the sores, but seems to be a losing battle. Any one know what is going on ? Any help greatly appreciated, Can't stand to see her look so miserable.

She was bit by a snake, we saved her life, then every since she gets this problem with her skin, feet and now an ear. What are ear mites? Would they do this? But she has issues? PLEASE HELP! I have a 10 yr. old mixed breed dog. He is 10 1/2 lbs. and looks like the Taco Bell dog only a little bigger. The last 4 to 5 weeks he has been constantly constipated. He eats and drinks well but has a torned lining inside his anal pathway which is making it difficult to poop. His vet says they have a surgury which is expensive and is not very reliable. He is taking lactulose medicine 3 times a day to help soften his stool but this isn't helping much. His vet gives him 2 to 3 eniama's each week or so to clean him out. This costs me $60 each time I take him in. Does anyone know how I can do this myself? I need to know what kind of equipment, what kind of solution, and how much solution to use. i forgot to mark the day that i breed her with another dog..i believe its been 2 months since then..her tummy has dropped n gotten hard. i can feel the pups move n also see them at times. someone just told me 2 nights before about checking the temp. that it should drop to about 98 when shes about to have the pups...last night i noticed a yellow-whitish liquid in her vaiginal area..where i then called a friend n she said that its what they call the plug..now i check her temp. last night n it was at 100 i just got done checking it n it was 100.7 i was just wonder if anyone knew what y it jumped back up n if the yellow-whitish stuff is the plug or something else..

My toy malteese keeps eating her hair on her legs. She knaws it down to the skin like a crew cut. Does anyone know why she is doing this and any suggestions on how I can stop her.

I wash her coat in unperfumed shampoo and feed her a good diet with all the minerals she needs. She has lots of toys and chew sticks.

After reading these messages, I cannot believe how many people do not seek more help before they breed their dog, or before their pregnant female begins to whelp! PLEASE, for your pet's sake, go out and purchase a book to help answer your questions before things go wrong. I highly recommend "Canine Reproduction A Breeder's Guide" by Phyllis A Holst, MS, DVM. I have no idea who she is, but the book is fantastic. You can probably get it from your local library.

We think it was around the 5th ( feb ) I have a few questions- this is her 2nd litter ( her 1st was planned and no problems , 3 pups ) it has been years since then. Is 7 to old? I do not know when she should be going into labor ( maybe around the 7th of April )?? Her stomach is really swelling very large the last few days, everytime i look it looks like it has grown! But i have checked down there and a few times she has had some discharge stuff ( this goes back a week or 2 ) it is not clear, it is maybe like a light light brownish color, maybe a little yellowish ( but not really yellow ) what could be going on? Is this normal ? I have read that clear is normal, but it is not. Her stomach is still growing tons, so could this just be nothing? thanks, Lisa

I have a 3 year old pit he has real senitive skin the guy i got him from put bio spot on him when he was a pup now he has a scare all way down his back.the problem is his head stays broke out he shakes his head alot it could be ear mites.would that make him scrach blood out of his head right on the top.i tryed every thing that i did't think would hurt him.bag balm/sweetoil mixed with iodine.would it hurt to boil his ears out with proxide.what do you think i need to do.besides the vet.probaly the vet right

Sandy, my daughters dog does not like men. She has been this way since she was about 9mths.old, she is now 2.
She is very aggressive towards any man or even a large teenage boy, she growls, gets real tense, she will even snap at them and has even bitten a couple men, not bad, but bad enough to cause concern.
Sandy is great with kids and females, she is loving and wants to be cuddled, keeping in mind this dog weighs about 90lbs, when shes around these people shes like a big puppy.
PLEASE HELP, how can she break her of this? She really doesn't want to lock her away every time theres company and her son is getting older and has alot of friends that come over, she loves the son alot, they play together all the time, she even sleeps with him or my daughter. Will this agression also become towards him?

Shes a small dog, and I have been monitoring her tempature for a while now. I have a midwife on standby. Her tempature has dropped to 97.6 degrees this morning. She has labored breathing, but I think she has a large litter, and honestly her breathing has been no different than it has in the past week or so. Her feces looks normal, and there's no blood in the stool or urine. The babies are active and moving about, but im very concerned with her tempature. I didnt think it was supposed to drop that low. I was under the impression after it dropped to about 99 degrees that labor would be sure to begin within 12 to 24 hours. She is going into her box and also under my bed for short periods of time, but I cant even tell if shes having contractions. Can some one please help?

She goes for a run with me daily, and is in her kennel for two 4 hour periods during the day, while I am at work. I have no idea how she got these sores and I just discovered them tonight. i have no idea what ring worm looks like either. Can anyone help me out?

I know that she need her nails clipped at least five times to get them down to where they should be but they ar not growing into her pads. My American Staffordshire Terrier had 8 puppies about 8 weeks ago...we have sold all but one of them and we are keeping one for ourselves. The both eat puppy food and drink from a water bowl, but the mom is still lactating...so bad that she leaves puddles. What should be done? I know with humans this can be really painful.

Subject: Puppies found dead.

We let her out to go to the bathroom and forgot about her, at 4:30am my son woke up frantic and went to get her. He found her and found 5 live puppies. after all the puppies were in he made another search and found two dead. Is it posible they froze with our tempeture falling below 20 degrees last night? They were the biggiest of the litter, yet frozen and stiff. There was no chance of resuce under the conditions. Did they die because of the cold or born dead?

We would have him treated for the ear infections and he usually received a cortisone shot and topical ointments for the "skin allergies". Finally Hunter got so bad that we had to see at least one more vet for a final opinion. This last vet we saw told us that he thought it might be Hunter's thyroid. Sounded strange to us but we had his blood tested and BINGO that was it. We give Hunter two thyroid pills a day and have his blood tested once a month. It was like a mircale, we saw an improvement within 2 days. Please ask your vet if they have tested thyroid levels. Hope this helps someone.

Absorbed pregnancy

I have a question. Out Boxer female was pregnant and due to whelp on Oct.25. On Friday I took her to my vet and found she had no puppies. She was ultrasounded about 2 weeks m/l after breeding and she had 6 puppies at that time. My vet said she had to of absorbed them not long after the ultrasound. There was no sign of her aborting them as I have seen a dog abort. She is now going through a false pregnancy, milk, nesting and all. Other than that she is in great shape. How long should it be for her to come in heat and breed again? We have several people on a waiting list and they are all being very patient as they understand these things can happen and I don't want to breed until I know she is ready. I know cattle can do this sort of thing as we raise cattle as well but have never had it happen to one of ours. Thanks in advance.
