Pennun kanssa kärsivällisyys palkitaan. Varmat otteet ja määrätietoisuus. Itselläni olleet pennut ovat tietty alkuun hämmästelleet harjausta. Jo parin föönauskerran jälkeen tultiin kuitenkin siihen, että pentu halusi makaamaan pöydälle ja nautti lämpimästä tuulahduksesta. Olen siis tehnyt pennut alusta asti pöydällä. Koira pöydälle seisomaan ja alkuun tiukka ote. Kun huomaan että koira rentoutuu, hellitän otetta kunnes lähinnä enää tuen esim päätä. Kun (pennun kanssa harvemmin jos) taas rimpuilu alkaa, sama juttu alusta. Kyllä fiksu pentu oppii helposti tajuamaan, ettei kyseessä olekaan mikään tappotilanne.
