• Aly was done done with school and finals and had finished top of her class, with glowing references and recommendations... her situation was no where year as dyer as her friends had been- plus she had been happily married for 5 and a half months. She was in the kitchen feeding the dogs, dressed in lounge pants and a tank- still dressed for bed, her long blonde curls up in a scrappy bun with tendrils escaping from the elastic. She glanced across the open plan apartment to see her friend, offering a half hearted smile as she left the dogs to their food and moved over to do the washing up from breakfast. She looked white as a sheet from the constant nausia she woke up to, and fromt he stress she supposed. "Hey babe... heard the good news I take it?" • She raised a brow at her friend's words and then let herself all the way into the apartment, dressed in a similar fashion. No, things for Aly worked out pretty even - Charlie was nearly through paying his father off what he owed him and they would have a fairly financial worry-free life as he could stay at the office as long as he wanted to and make as much money as he wanted to - he worked regular hours, but she didn't resent her friend for it even one second. • She returned her best friends hug in a heartfelt manner- she really needed it- though she kept her foamy hands away from her as she hugged her. "I think our moms have always been worse gossipers than we have. You want breakfast?" Whenever Aly wasn't at school and Mali had the baby sitter in she always made her breakfast. The worktop was scattered with Sears catalogs and pricey speciality baby company catalogues that Charlies mother had enthusiastically brought over the previous night when they had come over to 'celebrate' and had announced they wanted to help them out 'starting their family'. • "Of course, who could turn down one of your breakfasts?" She occasionally brought Isaiah over, but she had definitely decided that this morning would not be an optimal time to bring a squalling baby into the home of someone who wasn't entirely sure they wanted to have a baby. She slid herself onto a counter stool at the island and rested her elbows on the table top, sliding one of the catalogues over to land in front of her and shaking her head at some of the outrageous prices, and ridiculously over the top "styles" for babies. "Bellucci's been here?" She grinned a little, she had come to know Charlie's family a little bit over the time that her friend had been with him and she knew enough to know that they were big fans of lavishing people -- they had even sent her a big basket of babythings when Isaiah was born. • She grinned a little, and shook her head -- the whole nursery, she was surprised they didn't offer to redecorate the entire apartment for them. She flipped through another magazine, not really paying attention to the images and grinned, "So are we wearing Baby Prada then?" She teased, and looked up, "Anything I can help you out with?" She still wasn't much of a cook -- when it really came down to it, she wasn't much of a wife, she was a terribly unmotivated cleaner and a chronic burner of food, but Aly was coming along very well. • Aly was a neat freak and she could certainly hold her own in the kitchen- though Charlie was a fantastic cook. She smirked a little at Malia's remark and rolled her eyes a touch "No chance- I don;t even wear prada." She didn;t like when babies were dressed up like mini adults. Babies were babies- they didn;t care if they were wearing designer names as long as it felt good. She knew that much- and she had bought Isaiah a ton of feather soft baby grows and blankets when he was born- so Malia should know as much. She shook her head at her request to help, just as she always did "You just chill out... the boy kept you up all night screaming last night?" She was talking about anything but the actual issue- but they'd come around tot hat eventually- things just always evolved around tot heir problems and they would then help each other through them and support each other- it was always how it had been. • "He was up a couple of times, but he's getting better, I swear!!" She usually insisted Danny stay in bed when Isaiah woke up in the nights, she didn't want to put anymore strain on him than he needed -- she may not have been a good traditional wife, cooking and cleaning, but she did go out of her way to make things easy for him, especially with the time sacrifices and extra stress he had because of the baby -- she tried to arrange things so that the little time that he got to spend at home could be spent enjoying his family, not doing work or chores. They still had a fairly messy apartment, though. "I am gonna keep Anna a few minutes longer when I do get home so I can nap." • She smirked gently and served her friend her breakfast, not bothering with anything but a glass of water for herself- she couldn;t eat anything untill lunch time or it just came straight up. She settled opposite her friendand leafed through the catalogs- she kept picking them up in the hope they would inspire some enthusiasm from her. • She looked up from where she had dug into her food -- she, on the other hand, still ate like she was pregnant, but she accounted it mostly to the small home gym of a few pieces of used equipment she had collected that she used frequently, trying to get herself back into shape, the more she exercised, the hungrier she was. "Well don't force yourself, or you'll just resent it, not be enthusiastic about it." She was the last one to be telling anyone about trying too hard and resenting things -- it had taken her a lot longer to decide to keep Isaiah than it had already taken Aly to decide they were going through with it, so if anyone held the "Selfish Bitch" title, it was most certainly herself. • She nodded a little, pushing things around on her plate for a minute before she looked up and nodded, "I think he wants to be excited, but he doesn't want to make you feel bad for not being excited." No, it wasn't what she thought, it was what Charlie had told her outside of the apartment door when she had met him on his way out. "And I think he probably doesn't think you should suffer for his happiness." She lifted the fork to her mouth, chewing thoughtfully. "You probably won't get that broody feeling with Isaiah, but when you have something that came out of you, that's beautiful and that you and Charlie made, you probably will." • Aly nodded gently, watching her friend closely as she spoke, glad to see that Malia supported her own hopes "Yeah thats what I'm hoping... It'll turn out alright... its just going to take some time for me to come around to the idea I think... thats all... Charlie has every right to be happy and excited though... I wish I could be too... • She shook her head, "You worry about that, but it'll know who it's momma is. A nanny doesn't love a baby the same way their momma does." She offered her friend a reassuring smile, pushing away the plate, pretty much cleaned up. "Just wait, it'll come." She put a hand on her full belly and shook her head. "Will you give me cooking lessons?" She teased -- Danny wasn't INCREDIBLE in the kitchen either, still better than her, but nothing like Charlie, they both enjoyed coming over to spend time with the couple and eating their homecooked meals.. and footing the bill for takeout when Charlie and Aly came over. • Aly smirked a little at her request, feeling a little cheered by her friends confidence that things would fit into place properly, like she hoped they would. "I think you're asking the wrong resident of this home... Charlies the one you want lessons off- he taught me." Meal time was a big deal to them- in full Italian style- meals were always important. They had a nice big modern kitchen and when either of them cooked the other always hung around and helped or watched, chatting and being affectionate. • She grinned mischeviously, a brow raised, completely playful - "Now you wouldn't want to leave me all alone with your husband, would you? I might tell him all sorts of secrets about you!" She jested, she knew that it was pretty much the same between Aly and Charlie as it was with Mali and Danny, they each knew everything, down to the smallest detail about one another -- she couldn't lie to Danny, anyways, she was guilty before a lie even threatened to come out of her mouth so she had learned to opt for the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, just like her momma had taught.
