Any idea how he got AIDS? I've ruled out drugs because it just didn't seem like his way.

I could also slap anyone who said he was gay. Not that I'm homophobic, but I hear he liked the ladies.

I was reading on one of the other chat boards (maybe it was this one), and someone said he gave AIDS to a woman. And that her family didn't want some album Tribute released. Is that true?

Anything more about his daughter like how she's doing? I never read any interviews where he talked about her. Have you?

Yeah, I saw that Jade/Ashley publishing. She must have meant something to him for him to incorporate her into his songwriting so to speak.

I wonder what kind of father he was--strict, happy go lucky, etc.

I knew about his girlfriend, Karina (through reading his mother's comments), but I have no idea if she's Ashley's mother.

Reading your posting I'm assuming that whatever girlfriend he may have had didn't stick with him through this, which makes me sad because I try to do a lot of AIDS awareness work. If I had been old enough and lived in the area where he lived when he was alive, I would have honored to take care of him. It would've been hard emotionally though to see such a talent fading.

I really miss what he could've been and where his talent could have gone. I often wished he had taken the Cats gig instead because maybe things would've turned out differently for him.

I'm glad Al Romano helped out. I'm also glad that if Jake E. Lee and the guys knew he was stick and had AIDS that they kept it secret. That was the noble thing to do.

It's funny though, I knew he was sick when I saw a photo of him flexing his muscles (the same way I knew that film critic Gene Siskel was ill after watching him on TV one night), and I said to myself he looked awfully frail. He was smiling, but I could by the smallness of his body that he was sick, but I had no IDEA!

I wonder if he knew he was dying. Anyway, like I said, after taking care of patients, I kind of know when a person doesn't look themselves.

Ray was never really a robust man to begin with. But I screamed (to myself) every time I saw photos of him in leather. They must have been custom-made because they ALWAYS fit him like a glove.

Thanks for answering my questions. I bought everything but the SRS album yesterday after reading your posting. But I'll buy that, too, at some point. I assume it's worth having?

Does he do a lot of singing on it? Some of the lyrics on Dusk are sad to listen to. In fact, some of the songs, I can't. There's one that goes something like "Lord, I think I'm healing." God only knows what he meant by that.

He either had hope that he was going to beat it, or he was preparing himself for death, and the healing he was talking about was a spiritual healing rather than healing from the disease.
