The way the coil is supplied 6 volts is from a resistor wire built into the harness. There should be 2 red wires in one connector one is for run position (the 6 volts) and the other is from the start position 12 Volts to produce hotter spark. Make sure the wires are connected properly. I dont think that is the problem. You need to change the coil to the old round one for the dura spark system. The EFI coil has a much higher current draw to produce a hotter spark. The amprage that the EFI coil draws is causing the dura spark module burn out.
