We have more serious problems with strong borders on our Mexican borders....dont you think?

Many yrs ago on another board when the discussion about the OK city bombing came up a woman that at the time went by the screen name Missouri Mom ie...Cricket said that the main bomber guy Tim McVeigh(sp?...not sure I am spelling his last name right)...he was a young white man, was infact somehow linked with Osma Bin what ever his name is(I am sure someone will correct me on the spelling of that name! :-D).
I dont agree with it 100% but my point is do you really beleave that the only terrorist we have to worry about are going to be of a middle eastern background?
That mind set worries me because if I was a terrorist and I saw America was only focusing on middle eastern people I sure as heck would do all in my power to recruit others from different racial backgrounds. I think we might just miss some really really bad guys this way.

ok, another comment if I may.

There are extreamist groups that are seperist(sp?)(and other kinds of non arab extreamist) that most certainly mean us much harm...but we are not going to see them if we only see color of skin, eyes or an arab name or accent.
Think about it...now would be the perfect time for those other groups to infiltrat the US to cause lots of harm....and we wouldnt even see it coming because we have this idea that we need only worry about people from arab or middle eastern background because of 9-11...I think that gives us a false sense of secrutiy because we feel can just look at someone or hear their accent or see that they have an arab like name to catch the bad guys!
But that is my opinion.

My husband has run the movie theatre in this town going on 10 yrs now..so we see lots and lots of people.
We have the gothic kids a lot, we have the tattoed and extreamly pierced kids a lot and the skater kids..and you know what? We have never had on lick of trouble out of these kids..not one. These are the kids everyone always points fingers at when there is trouble or when someone is worried..but after 10yrs and no trouble I think that is something.
The kids or customers we have the most trouble with are the nice and neat, clean cut teens...and the redneck element...mostly white clean cut males. The the cutesy little teen and early 20's little white girls...
am I profiling here?
From our 10yrs experience here...6 days a week, every week for 10 yrs this is pretty much standard.

my point?
It is a mistake to only look to the groups who we typicaly think are the ones to worry about...you will miss the mark if you do this.

I gotta go and rest for a while
