I came to this sight hoping to connect with someone for some advice about this very problem, as my vet is just not that familiar with the hairless skin issues. I am pleased to have found the information about the yogurt and honey mixture. I just have a few questions that I am hoping Mr. McCartney will see and answer. You said that you don't measure, that you "eyeball it". Can you describe the consistancy that I should try to achieve? Also, will I still have to express them, or can you explain what I can expect to see happen? I have had my female(sp) for about 6 years, and these blackheads have appeared over the last 6 months or so for the first time on the lower half of her legs, only. Can you shed any light on why this has come about? My male(n)does not have this problem at all. Also, both of them have this darkened skin in the groin area that seems to come and go to a certain degree. It is especially bad when they get on an obsessive licking spree - anything to get rid of that (besides constantly telling them to stop licking)? Lastly, I am also curious about the shampoo that is mentioned frequently on this message board. What does it offer? I currently use a mild shampoo with the thought that since they should be bathed at least once a week, I wanted it to be gentle on their skin. The rest of their skin and the hair that they have is gorgeous, and it is the only shampoo that doesn't irritate my Great Dane's sensitive skin. I would be open to using something else on the Cresteds, but would like to know more about the benefits and then where it can be found. - Thank you again, for the information that I have already found and for what I hope to get in the future. This is a valuable site, as I stated earlier, there just aren't enought professionals with Crested knowledge in my area.

Sincerely,
Gina Wahl
