This may or may not help, but I adopted a female crestie rescued from a puppy mill about a year ago. She was scared of everything and has slowly become not so afraid except for my son. He also is gentle and good towards her, we've tried for him to give her treats, etc - nothing works. The only think I can think of is that my son works in a warehouse and comes over straight from work. I don't know if you have ever been in a warehouse, but there is a certain "dirty, industrial, man's sweat" type of smell that I'm sure is all over my son. I really believe she (after a year no less) is influenced by this smell and that is why she is quite hostle towards my son. She recently has started to be not real friendly towards anyone outside our home and we are working on that (possibly is afraid they have come to try and take her away...?). At any rate, that may be one possibility as to why your crestie is hostile towards your son.
