It is my understanding that most legitimate rescue groups require information from owners turning in dogs, because frequently people violate contracts and that results in some messy legal issues. Also, many rescues do not accept owner turn-ins. They are so overwhelmed by the numbers of dogs coming out of pounds, they can't take in those that have owners who could exert a little extra effort and find the animals good homes on their own.

On a note of curiousity --- you have an agreement with the previous owners to not tell where the dogs are from, but these same people don't have any interest in taking the dogs back or helping find homes for the dogs? All the responsible breeders I know wouldn't allow you to find a home for the dogs - -they would insist on the dogs being returned.

I can't say for sure because I don't know your circumstances, but it sounds like you may be making rescue folks very uneasy and fearful that taking the dogs might create a legal issue - or you are trying to dump dogs that have some serious problems.
