This is going to be controversial but I'd like some input on bark collars. I have one already for my mid-size mix breed but don't dare put it on any of the cresties. For one I think it would be too heavy however my in-laws and my husband would like to get some sort of deterent for the barking these little brats keep doing. I say that we're breaking the ones at our house of barking so much for no real good reason but they have a problem up at their house.

I'm thinking one of those citronella spray collars would be the way to go since some of them have murmers using a shock collar could very well kill them. Not good (to say the least). I guess there is also those sonic blast things that goes off when the dog starts barking excessively (or just barks period). I say we do the ol' put rocks in a can and shake it when they do the unwarranted barking trick but the in-laws are hard to train let alone the dogs. I broached the idea of whatever we get we split between the two households.

In case you're wondering why this is coming up now. My brother-in-law had all these dogs and when he passed away we all inherited some along with their behavioral problems. I'm also thinking of getting one of those Scarecrow sprinklers to keep the frantic barking along the fence when the neighbor dog comes too close to a halt. If he were to get blasted with all his barking I sure wouldn't be too upset. LOL
