Do you have a friendly, responsible neighbor that could let the dog out to potty when you are gone? Can you afford a petsitter to stop in once a day?

If not, I would just stay outside with Goblin until he does go potty. Rather than being mad at you and your son, he may be so excited to see his humans that he forgets to 'go' right away. By the time he comes back into the house, he is alittle calmer and then he remembers that he has to 'go'. So..he gets on with that and then goes back into happy play mode. Your son could take him on a nice long walk as soon as he gets home.

The three of you have come very far.....don't give up on him, there are alot of people on this board that can give you good advice.
