I agree with Rose, if you have someone who can come spend a bit of "play" time with him during the day, that would be ideal. Or do you have a neighbor who's home all the time (such a retired person) who might agree to doggy sit for you? Cresties are very much people oriented dogs and most are fine with a regular routine (i.e., I'm gone from the house 8-9 hrs per day and all do well on that routine, but if I'm gone much longer than that they show their disapproval by shredding toys, paper, and one will even poop on the floor & then take a walk or two thru it etc.), but when that routine changes they tend to show you their disapproval in a number of ways....regressing in housebreaking being the #1 way.

Another option might be a doggy daycare 2-3 days per week. Not some place that will just kennel him all day, but one that has fun activities for dogs of all breeds, ages & sizes. Many are pretty reasonably priced. You would have to ensure that Goblin is UTD on all shots, including bordatella (kennel cough) as most will not accept dogs without proof of vaccinations. I know this is a huge growing new market and the odds of you finding one close to you (assuming you're in a city setting) are pretty good.

BTW, thank you for sharing your story with us. Cresties are absolutely wonderful little dogs and to hear how they helped turn your teenage son around is the most heartwarming story I've heard in some time. I know mine have changed my life drastically...all for the better.

Please let us know how it goes with Goblin. I know I'd love to see a pic of him as well. If you get a minute, please upload a pic to www.photobucket or other similar site and send us the link.
