I like my Vivante SE very much and believe I will be holding on to it for another couple of years. Is it worth it to get Transmonde's two year extension on the warranty for $199? Most "mainline" magazines like 3 yr. warranties on laptops, but extended warranties on non-computer products are often bad deals. Also, the stability of the warrantor is a vital part of the decision to purchase an extended warranty. In light of the recent discussions on Transmonde's supply problems are there reasons for concern that Transmonde might not be around to honor any extended warranty?

There's no urgency since I have till the end of the year to take the extended warranty, but I'd appreciate any thoughts you have on the subject.
