I tried this and only got the movie to work once. I tried playing with the fn and F8 keys more but couldn't get the picture back. I assume that this is something I will have to do whenever I want to watch a DVD on the screen. By Jessica's response I assume that my machine is not unique. Do you know the underlying issue with this, is it hardware, software or what? Is the only permanent fix for this to install another manufacturer's dvd player? Thank you for your help.
