Date Posted: 18:29:29 06/17/02 Mon  It was a warm summer morning with a playful breeze. 14 y/o Cassidy Brooks was dying to get in the saddle. She hurridly finished her barn chores and went to get Polish Pride. The young stallion nipped her playfully, tossing his head and prancing. "Calm down," Cassidy smiled as she groomed him & tacked him up. The pretty blonde settled into the sloping saddle seat, pushing her heels down, gathering the reins high, and urging the 16h Arabian to the arena. They warmed up, did circles, lead changes, walked, trotted, cantered, & racked around. Pride had naturally flashy, high gaits. He arched his neck and lifted his tail as they surged around the arena. Cassidy felt as if she were floating on air! He was so smooth! Pride was behaving perfectly and Cassidy decided to reward him with a trail ride. They left the arena after about half an hour and started up a shady path. The pair trotted smoothly up & down woody hills, across a clear stream, and then took a few logs (which Pride bounded over joyfully) before looping back to the barn.
