If someone spends a week, say, coming up with character background, and the character gets killed off quickly... will they come back? How many times?

I guess personally I favour the system I'm used to, which should work if these are all screened rpers: If you think your own character should be dead, then they are. The descision isn't made by the game, or by other people. It is, of course, extremely dependant on having honest, roleplay oriented people (as opposed to stats oriented, or ego-pulling).
