I had to start a new message.....since it's about time for Halloween, I was just wondering what everyone's all-time scariest or favorite Halloween movie or movies are. I love "From Hell" with Johnny Depp looking for Jack the Ripper, but my two favorite scary movies are "Picture Mommy Dead" with Don Ameche, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Martha Hyer and "Taste of Evil" starring Barbara Stanwyck, Barbara Parkins, Roddy McDowall and William Windom. "Picture Mommy Dead" isn't really frightening, but it's suspensful, but there are parts of "Taste of Evil" that will make you jump out of your seats! Neither are gory, I hate that in a movie. I don't want to offend anyone, but the "Friday the 13th" movies and "Nightmare on Elm Streets"...they just aren't realistic...just bloody. Although, I love the original "Halloween" and it wasn't realistic either. Face it, when Jamie Lee Curtis stabbed Michael Myers in the neck with a knitting needle, he was a duster, but he survived!!! And then survived the subsequent fatal injuries and went on to do the sequels! It was the music in that movie that scared the crap out of ya'!!!! Just thinking of it gives me chills!!!

Okay, I'm done rambling.....so what's your favorites?

psycho is the best i have seen though i don't care for movies like that. the only modern day one i have seen is the original halloween which was good but i have little to compare it to since i don't watch these types of movies. (NT)sandi04:16:47 10/10/02 Thu
It's not really THAT scary, but my fave movie in the "Halloween theme" genre would have to be The Lost Boys! I agree, Psycho was good too! But the older I get the more I prefer my movies to help me *escape* tension and stress, not cause it! ;o) (NT)Connie13:42:37 10/10/02 Thu
My favourite movie is The Nightmare before Christmas. A mix of Halloween and Christmas combined. I must remember to get it out for the kids (and me) to watch. (NT)DelsCat14:44:29 10/10/02 Thu
I don't know if you can call it a 'favorite' since I'm not really into those kinds of movies anymore, but "The Shining" scared the crap outta me! Remember 'Daddys' home!!" ...ahhhhhhhhhhh!! (NT)Helen08:42:22 10/12/02 Sat
Most movies that I think are scary usually apply to the age I saw them. Young teens has me thinking of "The Changling", "Audrey Rose", "Jaws" (spent a whole summer NOT swimming), "The Birds", "War of the Worlds", and an all time fave was the original "Halloween". The Shining was a great one too. Nowadays it's usually books that scare me into leaving a light on at night! (NT)~Mary13:55:18 10/18/02 Fri
