Okay, now that I've established the fact that I'm a proud papa, I'm turning some focus back to the Rollers. Is anyone on this board planning on seeing Les in Atlanta on Labor Day Monday, or am I the only one who intends on being there? Just curious.

I am proud to announce that yesterday morning (the due date) at 9:34 a.m., Lydia Alice Kohlenberger was born into this world! She weighed in at 7 lbs. even and measured 19 1/2 inches long. It was absolutely the grossest, most excruciating, spectacular thing I have ever witnessed!!!!! Lots of back labor nearly made me die with agony. I couldn't stand watching her in that kind of pain, but that little girl did everything without even getting an epidural. I have new respect for all of you mommas out there. I don't think I could do it. I just came home to shave and check messages, and now I gotta get back to the hospital to see my beautiful wife and daughter. I'm a daddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Brent for getting the chatter going. AND of course on your newest arrival....the one thing I'll say that my Mom said to me that is SO true, once you have a child of your own you will then realize what it means when you say you will die for someone. You'll be a great Dad so wear that badge proudly!

I meant to be back to post yet my princess decided to become ill with an apparent case of appendicitus. The funny thing (which didn't seem funny at 3am yesterday in the ER) was I just wanted them to stop her f'ing pain. It was then that I realized that I will be of no use to her should she ever go into labor as I will be the one screaming DRUG HER! Very helpless seeing your child in pain and NOT being able to fix it. She is on the mend today and all her tests are still being read to see what is the problem.

Debs...(and DennyD, Geej, Laura, Cee, Tami and the *K* Lady..hell the whole lot of you) when are we going to finally get together!!?? Yes I'll be in Maine here and there so email me as to when you're going. Worse case scenario when Mom moves out by Fall we'll do a girls weekend there again! Here's your warning to make a mental note now.

As to Atlanta, Brent, your lack of exercise has me concerned, yet that isn't the reason I wont be attending. Like Debbs the whole plane thing has me freaked out, (bad experience taking the kids to Mickey Mouse land last week), but the real reason is that weekend is our family reunion weekend in Maine. If one misses that one had best be in the hospital! We close out the summer season and we're back in school too. Here's hoping Les makes some time out of being here and perhaps comes to the Land of New England as he could draw a crowd.

Now when is a CHAT going to be announced?

Okay...Ann Arbor seems convenient for Becky, Mary F., and me...I checked into the Saline Celtic Fest and it's the weekend of July 10th which I can't make. :( The Michigan Renaissance Faire in Holly, Michigan is about 80 miles for me (Mary F., it's about 124 miles for you...I checked on Mapquest) and that's sometime in August/September if anyone is interested in that. Here's the link...this fest is absolutely a great one... http://www.michrenfest.com/

And if you want to meet for lunch in Ann Arbor some weekend that would be fun too. They have the Azure Mediterranian Grill (awesome food) and a seafood place called Mac's which is incredible.

Any thoughts?!?!?!?!?!? Mary F. and I love the Common Grille in Chelsea as well for lunch. That's about 1-1/2 hours from me and about the same for Mary...Becky??

OK so I just have to RAVE about this band I saw the other night. They currently have the #1 album in the UK and we're just starting to work them here in the States. The band is called Keane, they're a trio (vocalist, keyboards/bass and drums). This is easily one of the most gorgeous sounding albums I've ever heard! The singer has a voice like an angel. It's one thing to hear it on the record (production can work miracles), but to see someone live and have them sound that amazing - WOW. They're currently touring small venues in the U.S. so if you get a chance to see them while they're still in the "developing" stage here...GO!! You can check out our promo website at http://www.bandbuilder.com/keane if you're so inclined. There's a video for the first single ("Somewhere Only We Know") if you can stand the fact that it stops to buffer every 5 seconds...I find it highly irritating. To get a better taste, click on audio and jump ahead to the 2nd track, which is "This Is The Last Time" (click "next" on the audio player to get to Track 2).

If you have the time and the patience to sit through the video, note that this is the special UK-only version --the band just shot a new version of the video for the States (apparently those little alien creatures were just a bit too bizarre for U.S. audiences!)

HIGHLY recommended! And if you do get a chance to check 'em out, I'd love to hear what you think! :o)

Ladies...we can set up a chat room via just AOL Instant Messenger. I just tried it using Bay City Rollers as the chat room name and sent an invite and it worked. However, I think you have to be 'invited' into the room to enter.

How about a Sunday chat tomorrow night about...mmm...9:30 EST? I think that would be 6:30 Pacific Time...does that work for anyone? I can set up the chat room...you can I-Mail me when you log on and I'll send you an invite to get into the room until we can figure out if you can just 'enter' a room called Bay City Rollers 'uninvited'.

Just roared with laughter at Sharon's post and felt the urge to do the same... so here goes!

My names Jan and I am a Roller fan, not so much as I was when I was younger and had less time to worry about wrinkles but...hey!

I got Wouldnt you like it today, and not having been one of my fave albums its not often I listen to it - try every few years or so! But there I was, singing away, it took me straight back to Xmas 75 when I got the album for Xmas, oh and a certain legendary gig in 2001 where one of the girls pointed out she used to gaze at Eric's trousers for hours on end!

I got dragged along to see David Cassidy last week - 2000 screaming women, but he was okay, in fact he was looking good for a man of his age. I'm still not convinced though, he was always WAY too pretty for my liking. Funny thing is though, I was sat in row 5, in front of Anthea Turner (UK TV presenter) who screamed her way through the whole show, and 3 seats away - stood in the aisle was (and if it wasnt then she has a doppleganger) Denise Wood!!!

Being as I was surrounded by DC fans all oblivious to everything bar the man I didnt move everyone out of the way to ask her - however I did keep an eye out for Woodz, and warned the girls if I spotted HIM then they would hear the loudest scream out - coz we ALL know Roller fans can scream better than anyone else!!!!!

Now wahst this about a SAL reunion???? I'm up for it!

Subject: May is Mental Health Month

May is Mental Health Month here in the US.

My fiance suffers from bi-polar disorder, the newfangled terminology for manic depressive illness. He suffered with this disease for 15 years before his diagnosis in the Spring of 2001. It has taken more than 2 years of what we call "The Med Dance" to get his medications adjusted to the extent that he can live a normal life.

Mental Illness is nothing more than a chemical imbalance in the brain. It is no different than diabates or asthma. With the right doctor and the right combination of medications, mental illness can be treated successfully.

So why am I mentioning it here? Two reasons; first, to get the word out. Second, simply because I always wondered if a certain Roller, who shall remain nameless, sufferes from the same disorder as my finace. By bringing it to light, I am hoping that another person out there will be able to see the underlying cause of a life of chaos.

If you would like to learn more about mental illness and what you can do to help those who suffer from one of many debilitating illnesses, go to www.nami.org.

Thanks for listening everyone!

A big one. And I'm not talking size-wise either (that's now, this is then).

I know some of you here...don't I? Didn't we go to some conventions together in the late '90's? Didn't we meet some band members and get some autographs and drink some drinks and travel around? Didn't we do all that? Or am I hallucinating again?

:oD

I hope everyone here is well...I took out a tape I have from Shang-A-Lang '99 tonight and watched it, and I was overwhelmed with memories from that time in my life.

I miss you guys. I hope you're all well.

Many positive energies to everyone,
Sharon

Hello Roller fan!

Wanted to give you a quick update on the forthcoming bio on the band, "Bay City Babylon".

Originally scheduled for publication in the Fall of 2003, the book has been delayed twice. Once to allow Les' excellent autobiography to have some "breathing room" and now, due to Tam Paton's continuing legal issues. He is due in front of the jury in his case in Mid April and hopefully, those proceedings will be wrapped up by May.

If that is the case, an estimate on a street date is now sometime in August of 2004.

As fans of the band, I think you will enjoy the book. It has been the mission since day one to present a detailed, unbiased retrospective that chronicles the entire saga of the band from it's humble beginnings to the present day.

I am using this period of waiting to fortify the volume with additional interviews. Quite a few subjects that were unavailable a year ago have participated recently which only helps to round out the story even more. So, in a way this time has been a real blessing to this project.

I wanted to use this forum as a means to update you as I get quite a few emails asking about the progress of the book. I hope this helps and, thanks for your interest.

By the way, I am still seeking the cooperation of any fans who can contribute their memories of these specific periods/events:

1. BBC Radio "Fun Day" at Mallory Park, 1975.

2. CHUM sponsored appearance at Nathan Phillips Square Toronto, 1976

3. Atlantic City, NJ Steel Pier music hall concert 1976

4. Band house or studio in New Jersey 1980

5. Peppermint Lounge concert 1981

6. Harrah's Casino concert Lake Tahoe 1981

Email me waynecoy@aol.com if you'd like to share. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Wayne Coy

And now for some BCR news a little closer to home (well for most of us that is!) Ian Mitchell will be performing all your favorites once again on Saturday, April 24th at the Britannia Arms (173 W. Santa Clara Street) in downtown San Jose, California. He will again be backed by a groovy and talented bunch of guys known as The British Invasion. The show begins at 9:45 and continues until we shut the place down! If any of y'all on the east side are getting sick of that cold winter weather, here's your perfect excuse to plan a trip out west! ;o)
