Haha...Have to share this useless (but fun) discovery. Our 15 year old daughter considers herself on the 'cutting edge' when it comes to her taste in music. I have to say I rather enjoy her selections: Good Charlette (sp??), Less Than Jake, All American Rejects, New Found Glory, Blink 182, etc.

But you listen to these bands, who I'd describe as "edgy pop"...lotsa guitar, drum and great harmonies, and they sound SO MUCH like what we listened to (well, what I listened to) back in 1981 !! My later Roller days led me to listen to the not-quite-full-fledged-punk-but-not-quite- mainstream stuff.

And this kid thinks she's listening to something new...hardee har har. Bet these bands all have posters of the Ramones hanging on their walls.

Kara also gets annoyed when she hears one of "her" songs on top 40 radio and moans the same line I used to "I was listening to this song LONG ago and just NOW they play it on the radio like it's NEW??!!"

Youth, gotta love it.

rofl, absolutely msmary! and what about those 80s songs that are all being rerecorded by new/young singers and keep showing up on tv shows and movies! my son is highly amused that *I* know the words to the songs HE likes. (NT)erica11:33:44 04/04/03 Fri
I hear ya! Both my girls love the All American Rejects. I even find myself listening to the hip hop station occasionally...even when my kids AREN'T in the car with me! (NT)Leila21:51:03 04/28/03 Mon
