Mary!!!! I can't believe this happened to you too!!! For me, it was August 4, 1979, the concert was in Pittsburgh, Pa at the Stanley Theater, four tickets, about five rows back from center stage and my parents drove me and three of my BCR friends 2.5 hours only to find out the show had been canceled!!!!! My friend Vera and I have come to affectionately refer to this as "the dry run". Hehehe. I can laugh now, but I can distinctly remember sitting on the sidewalk in front of the theater BAWLING my eyes out. Vera said her most vivid memory is of my Mom saying "Julie, honey, if there is something else that you girls would like to do, we will take you." and me being the spoiled ass 13 year old, screaming and crying in response, "I DON'T WANNA DO ANYTHING ELSE!!! I WANTED TO SEE ALAN!!!!" I remember that the reason behind the cancellations was because ticket sales were low due to the gas price increase! (I should have known when we got such great seats that something would come along and screw it up. We probably got the tickets because no one else was buying them because of the gas prices skyrocketing!)
I only saw the BCR one time in August '77 and Alan wasn't back with the group yet, so I never did get to see him in person. :*(
I hate to see that this happened to someone else, but obviously, it had to have happened to a lot of fans. I just can't believe that your story is almost exactly like what happened to me.
Smooches babies!

Scuz cuz Dianne (of Dianne and Greg fame,) said, "See! I told you guys they could never make it without Les!" Grrrrr..... (NT)Rebecca A. Hall21:07:54 10/21/03 Tue
