Subject: An unwanted fight

"The scene begins with Pete walking down a hallway."

Pete: I'm trying to find Nightmare. I want to see what he has to say about his match this Wednesday with his friend Karnage.

"Pete walks up to a door and knocks."

Voice from inside: Who is it?

Pete: It's me, Pete. I wanted to see if I could talk to you for a few minutes?

Voice from inside: Yeah, come in.

"Pete walks in and Nightmare can be seen sitting on a couch watching TV."

Pete: Thanks for taking the time to talk to me.

Nightmare: Yeah Yeah. Lets make this quick. I have important things to do.

Pete: Right. This will only take a few minutes.

Nightmare: Well? What do you want?

Pete: I just wanted to get your thoughts on your match at War this week against your friend Karnage.

Nightmare: My Thoughts? You want my thoughts?

"The look on Nightmares face turns to anger."

Nightmare: I'll tell you my thoughts. I think that this is just a pathetic excuse for Biggs to try to spften me up before our match. I think he realizes that Karnage is the only other person in this company who is near my ability.

Pete: So you think that Karnage can beat you?

Nightmare: Now did I say that?

Pete: Well no. I just......

Nightmare: Listen to me. I don't want anythign to do with this match. Nothing at all. Karnage is my friend. And like I said, this is Jesse Biggs just thinking that he is smart. Karnage is one of the top talents in this company. And by putting us against each other is just plain cowardly.

Pete: Ok, so level with me. Can you beat Karnage, or is this not a challenge to you at all?

Nightmare: Well lets face facts. I'm the best in the XWA. There is no one here who can touch me. Not Biggs, Remreamer, Storm, and NO, not even Karnage. Although I don't want to do it, I will beat him down. He is going to be just another opponent to me. When we step into that ring all ties of friendship are off. He is my opponent, and that's that.

Pete: That's what I thought you might say. I figured nothign less form you Nightmare.

Nightmare: I mean, I'm not taking anything away from Karnage, but he can't top what I've got. My style is a mystery wrapped up inside a question, wrapped up in an enigma. He might think he knows me, but he dosent' know shit about me. I'm going to hit him with so many different things, he will be lucky if he can make it to System Shock to fight for that IC title.

Pete: So do you know who he has chosen as his opponent?

Nightmare: Of course I do. He chose.......wait a minute. What the Hell do you think you're doing? I thought you were here to talk to me about me? Not Karnage! I'm the one who is going to win on Wednesday! I'm the one who is going to beat Briggs ass at System Shock for the XWA Title! ME!

Pete: Yeah, you're right. I'm so sorry. I'll leave you alone now. But before I go, do you have anything else to say about Wednesday?

Nightmare: Just this. Karnage. Friend or not, you're stepping into the ring as my foe. Remember that! You've seen what I have done so far. And just know that you are next on the list. Friends or not. You're going down at WAR!

Pete: That was perfect! Thanks a lot Nightmare.

Nightmare: Wait. What do you mean by that?

Pete: Oh, nothing! I have to go.

"Pete runs out of the room as Nightmare stands there with a confused look on his face."
