Siphoning all the bullshit might have me watching that assboil Hannity before long. Rachel Maddow had Ollie (Stone, not North) on. That motherfucker is crazier than 10 cats in a microwave, but to be honest, I think he thinks he’s helping. Maybe it’s people 75 years from now, but he thinks it’ll help eventually. He’s an optimist at heart, and he always loves the underdog. I think that’s why he made W (Dubya). Matthews had Buck Jr. on, and damn if that guy doesn’t sound a lot like Buck Sr. Except for that whole endorsing Obama bit. I thought Repugs liked loyalty, but damn, accepting his resignation from the National Review? Buck Jr. still owns that shit, but the backlash against the endorsement was so harsh (the editors downplayed) he had to resign in order to still own something worth millions. I like Buck Jr. He does remind me of his dad, but watered down in some strange facial ticks and the need to clear his throat a lot. But his reasoning is as sound as I remember his fathers being. Who else takes a yacht to international waters to legally smoke dope? That’s intellectual integrity. Maddow had Kerry on. He’s still an asshole. I’m not in Carnac mode but I’m guessing Obama wins. McCain is floundering in ways I never would have imagined even a month ago. For one thing the viral conservative chain-mails that all these fundie-capitalist, anti-immigration (which is now code for racist), social/class warriors send to each other over and over have started to sink into a near psychosis of “he’s a Muslim, Arab, terrorist, off with his Head, KILL HIM!” tenor that is REALLY turning off anyone that doesn’t move their lips when they read. I still think Palin is a stone that only levitates for people who are desperate to get glasses frames that look like hers. Look for this ACORN non-story to smolder for a few days, but it’s a joke as long as you can walk and chew gum at the same time. But here’s the Carnac. What happens if McCain somehow wins? Pay attention to all the metrics. Popular polls are one thing, but Zogby and Rassmussen are in a pocket, so fuck them. Exit polls (unless they are from aforementioned pollsters) are 99% accurate to the popular vote. Shit even the Scholastic Kiddie Fake Election has called every President all but twice and those two were Nixon in 1960, and some other guy before that. Sorry. I’m not looking it up. The point is, if all metrics point to Obama, what happens if McCain wins? It would be the most blatant proof that the vote-counters and the whole system are defunct. How do you think that would affect every one of us? I think it would be a worse realization, a bigger tragedy, than 9/11. To know that the system the terrorists hate so much doesn’t even work to begin with? That’s what America is supposed to be. Functional. I’ve not been seeing much of that lately, and another contested election due to gerrymandering bullshit would tantamount to disaster. And that’s the Truth, Ruth. A small slice, but it’s cheesecake.
