Hi Jenny, read your post here and on the other forum (worth reading twice afaic!)

I think I agree with Marshland K-9.

The Boerboel will simply devolve into 2 separate types/breeders.

People that want good working dogs will simply go to breeders that breed good working dogs. People that want doorstops will go to the other breeders.

As Marshland K-9 suggests; this is not unique to the Boerboel breed.

For instance; if you wanted a working APBT; you'd look for a dog like this

You certainly wouldn't go looking for a dog like this

As a breeder of working dogs; you wouldn't send your dogs out to people that wanted the second picture type, you'd send your dogs out to people that wanted the first pictured type (rhetorically of course; since those two dogs pictured are not representative of Boerboels)

There are breeders out there who will be able to provide the second dog to a clientele that wants it, there will be few and far between breeders who can provide the first dog; but there are also few and far between owners who can handle the first dog; so it matches up somewhat.

My only concern is the same concern with what happened to APBT, that is the banning of the dogs due to increased incidences of bites; due to increased population of idiots owning APBT. That is where I could see the Boerboel heading; and if it happens; I'll enjoy my dog until she expires and then I'll try another breed. My bad luck that my first breed was an APBT and now a Boerboel.
