Short resumes are a good idea David, I have no problem with that. Here's mine:

As a kid my parents bred, trained and worked gun dogs. Spaniels, Retrievers and one useless Setter. I grew up with dogs and horses.

I bred Newfoundlands for 20+ years in the UK, swam and showed them but never got into the carting thing. Spent long periods of time with old time breeders of many breeds learning how to breed dogs. Studied genetics, attended seminars on orthopedics, heart disease and other health related canine issues and was a member of the breed club health and longevity committee collating breed data for dissemination to breeders. Also owned an Irish Wolfhound, Japanese Akita, Pyrenean Mountain Dog and a Rott.

I came to SA 7 years ago, discovered Boerboels, bought one from a local farm for the price of a meal out and spent the next 5 years doing my groundwork, visiting many SA breeders and studying over 700 dogs before breeding my first litter in 2008. One litter since then to a different female. I own 7 Boerboels, 5 females and 2 males, 4 of which were bred by me and are still under review.

The dogs and I live together with my 15 year old son on a 600 acre sugar cane farm in rural Kwa Zulu Natal. The dogs are an integral part of our home and essential for our security.

I am a crap dog trainer and have to breed dogs that are better than I am out of necessity!
