I do believe people should be honest about their breedings, as the results should speak for themselves.

BUT, it is hypocritical to say outcrossing is unjustifiable when the truth is the very breed you fancy (the boerboel) isn't that old and honestly, IMO, isn't really established in consistency. I have seen some nice boerboels, but I have also seen them with eye problems, structural problems, and vaginal prolapses seems to be significant problems in the breed. I have also seen some SIGNIFICANT variation in type. To me, the boerboel is really nothing more than an "african bandog" and the Tosa a "Japanese bandog." But, that's my opinion and I don't expect everyone to agree with me.

Still...the consistency of working traits in a given LINE of dogs is FAR MORE IMPORTANT to a working dog enthusist such as myself than is a "breed."
