Of course our space program will survive.Space is our future. The space program has had tragic accidents, but we cant allow that to stop the program.Great explorations have always encountered tragedy, but the explorations must continue.Just imagine how the Colombia crew would feel if they knew their deaths caused the end of the space program. As you said, only a select few can attain the lofty goal of astronaut and once they've reached that height, surely their heart, mind and soul is consumed by the sky and what's out there. We would dishonor them to stop the program.
