Personally,if I make it to 99,I hope they dont print a "recent pik",which would include an oxygen tank hose and a face like a Shar-Pei.Seventeen wouldn't really be appropriate, somewhere in the middle might be nice :)
The Scranton Times has wonderful obits. They are very personal and individual. They mention what the deceased loved most in life, what their hobbies were and what made them unique. Here in Dork they have the old-fashioned stale and canned obits:attended blah blah school, retired from blah-blah and is survived by blah blah.
ANOTHER 0NLINE NEWSPAPER RANT
The newspaper articles (online)used to be followed by an "add your opinion " icon, where you could email your opinions and they would be printed. What the heck happened to that? Last week, for the first time I actually was inspired to do so myself, after reading an article about a woman who was sentenced to 90 days ( the maximum) in jail.
She had starved her puppy to death, was charged by the Humane Society Officer and sentenced by Magistrate John Pieski. She said the death of her father made her too distraught to care for/feed her dog,the good magistrate wasn't buyin' it.I wanted to write him a fan letter, but....it seems the Times has removed that icon.Too bad, sometimes the comments made better reading than the actual article.Anyway,I hope this woman's prison guard has problems at home which leave him too distraught to remember to feed this particular prisoner.

KK,whose obit will read " Kit T. Kat suffered a heart attack today while lugging 50 lbs of squirrel corn and 40 lbs of nuts into her backyard through 6 foot snowdrifts. She loved animals especially her dog Scout and Rocco the gray squirrel.Frankly, she was obsessed with squirrels.
