Subject: Obituary rant

Let me axe yas a question. Is it only around here? Every day in the Times obituary section you see somehting like this:

"Stanislaus 'Stashu' Kwizylienayevichski died Tuesday at Moses Taylor hospital after a brief illness. He was 99."

And above this obit is a picture of a 17 year old kid in his navy uniform!

Now surely there were more pictures taken of poor Stashu between the time he went to the navy at age 17 and kicked the bucket at age 99 up the MT? Don't you think it would be appropriate for the family to post a picture of the deceased the way people remember him from recently? You can have the old time pics up the corpse house for the wake.

I'm telling yas, it happens every week in that paper. Drives me up a freakin' wall.

BD, a little cranky lately.
