So glad somebody also noticed the past several years the State pageant has moved more towards men judges. Good or bad, this is not representative of the gender/contestants on the stage, Miss and Teen. I'm not sure that any other State level pageant has 4 of 5 men judges as we had this year, and a majority of men several of the past years. Maybe it's time to re-evaluate the way our State pageant judges coordinator selects judges, keeping in mind we have women on the stage not men.

Maybe then we could have better chances of selecting winners that could realistically bring home the National titles.

Exactly! Besides female judges are more likely to have a preconceived notion about what is the best hair style and makeup. They would subconsciously expect their favorites to mimic their taste and style. Or they would go for a pageant - patty vs someone original. Males are more likely to look at overall presentation and beauty. They focus on impression vs picking " their own kind", like many women judges do.

We need to bring back having majority of women judges that have judged or participated in the Miss America system. They would most assuredly pick very competitive standouts for Miss and Teen of MOA caliber.
