In reply to: Z 's message, "Good ol' Maryland" on Tuesday, June 27, 01:51:22am

After being Maryland a fan for many years, I'm walking away. It's obviously predetermined, and this years results in both Miss and Teen have left me scratching my head. It's time for change in this system

Preliminary awards mean nothing. Miss Maryland only needs to be 2nd or 3rd in every category to win. She needs to be consistent. Not to mention the fact that talent, despite being a high percentage of the individuals score, is no longer the most important factor when choosing a titleholder.

This happens often in MD... where there is smoke there is fire!

[> [> [> Subject: But here's the problem with saying talent is not an important factor in determining the winner...it carries the highest percentage of your score and your score is what is supposed to determine the winner, ranking is gone. If the rules were followed and all was fair we would have had a different outcome, this year, and last year, and probably the year before, Period!
