Pino, your idea is interesting. However, I disagree with changing the boot rule.

The flip side of your idea goes as follows...

We have a heafty run, aces around and double kings between us worth 105 in meld and take the bid for 60. We are within one point of saving, our ace of trump is on the table, the opponents have thrown a card and it is your turn. You boot. You are proposing they get their meld, we lose our meld nevermind the save points we just lost because you booted, and in addition go set 60 points. Think about it.

I think the boot rules are as fair as they can be and boots and glitches are the cost of online playing.

As hosts we can and do lift the three boots is an automatic forfiet rule on a bad night and there is also a board set rule for boots.

As a non-host you have no idea what it takes to settle a boot dispute without adding the cudda, wudda, shudda into the mix.

Unfortunately, those players who would boot just to win an online card game are the same players who would bump into the checker board just because they are loosing. They are just a fact of life we have to deal with.
