I bought Michael Malone's "Delectable Mountains". I am almost finished with Red Clay, Blue Cadillac. I get so into each character of each short story, I am sorry the story is over.

While sitting in the coffee shop at Books A Million I read a couple chapters of Delectable Mountains. I am enjoying it -- I love Malone's sense of humor.

So far I've read: Uncivil Seasons, Times Witness, and First Lady, Handling Sin and Last Noel; and like I said I am almost finished with Red Clay.

I understand where you are coming from -- buying books is the last thing I need to be doing. I have a whole bag of books that a friend lent me and two that I have started and not finished. For some reason I am hooked on Malone right now.

Fortunately I didn't pay full price. I found White Oleander for $2, Scott Turow's latest novel for $4, and a Miken Connelly book for $3, all in very good condition. I have so many books to read.
