Chapter 19: Finalities
Terina murmured: “Talib... please...” half-heartedly begging Talib to stop. Her mouth was speaking one thing while her whole body ached for the other.
Terina: “People might see us,” trying to find an excuse to stop.
Talib paused momentarily and looked around. With one quick movement, he pulled Terina into the ladies’ room and locked the door.
Talib: “There. No one will see us.” Terina still remained hesitant as Talib ran the back of his hand softly on her cheek.
Talib asked quietly: “What is it?”
Terina reasoned: “Do you feel that we should have thought it through better as well? I mean, it’s only been two months and we’re all ready to disregard everyone in our life for one moment of passion again. Should we reconsider our decision before we hurt the people we supposedly love?”
Talib sighed: “You’re right... I just don’t know what to do... I’m not very good at handling this kinda situation...,” trying to lighten up the mood. He could see the distressed look on Terina’s face and he embraced her. She defeatedly lost herself in his arms and she closed her eyes, hoping everything complicated would go away.

Nelly: “So did you like my little surprise?”
Keisha grinned: “Yes,” giving her boyfriend a kiss.
Keisha: “Very much! Did you know Jiz was going to propose?”
Nelly: “No, actually. Although the singing and everything HAD been his idea... I guess he’s been planning this for a while... It’s sweet, I think. Those two have been together for so long, it’s about time, I suppose!”
Keisha smiled up at Nelly: “You think we’ll ever get married?”
Nelly replied softly: “I can’t wait for the day you become my wife,” He bent his head and kissed Keisha.
Nelly: “I love you so much.”
Keisha: “I love you too,” putting her arm around his waist.

Jiz and Liz were sharing their first slow dance as an engaged couple. Liz smiled up at Jiz: “I can’t believe you did that...”
Jiz explained: “I’m sorry baby... I wanted to do something differenta nd surprise you...”
Liz: “Aww, sweetie... you don’t need to apologize! It was the most perfect proposal! I wouldn’t have had it any other way...” she stood on her toes to raise her slightly to meet Jiz’s lips.
Their kiss was followed by cheering. Jiz. and Liz turned to see Jarell laughing with Clara rolling her eyes and giving the couple an apologetic look.
Clara teased:“Jarell, you’re so childish!” giving her boyfriend a slap in the arm.
Jarell looked at her and said: “Yeah, and I know you love it..., ” and it sent butterflies loose in her stomach. They had been together for so long and he still managed to provoke those feelings within her.
Clara: “Yeah, yeah Jarell... you know my weakness...”

Star asked: “Jamal, have you seen Terina?” Jamal shook his head as he looked around the room. He spotted Stevie, however, and directed Star over to him.
Star: “Stevie, where’d Terina go?”
Stevie shrugged: “She went to the bathroom, but actually it’s been a while now...”
Jamal looked at his girlfriend: “Maybe you should see if she’s okay,” Star nodded, handed Jamal her drink and left the two men to talk between themselves.
Meg stared at Star as she brushed past her. Meg was talking with Lami and Nique when she overheard the conversation between Stevie, Jamal and Star. Nique gave her a warning look but she ignored it as she excused herself to follow Star. Nique sighed defeatedly and she led Lami onto the dance floor.
Just as Star neared the bathroom door, with Meg at her heels, the door clicked and swung open. To the girls’ horror and surprise, Terina walked out with Talib. Talib quickly noticed they had company and before he could explain, Meg ran off in tears. Terina looked understandingly at him and he ran off after her. Once Star and Terina were left alone, and before Star could express her disapproval of the situation.
Terina: “I don’t want to hear it...”
Star sighed at her best friend’s lack of good judgement: “So what’s going to happen now? And, c’mon, you couldn’t be more subtle??”
Terina stared blankly at a spot on the wall: “I don’t know... Nothing happened in there anyway... we were talking about what we were going to do...”
Star looked at Terina in disbelief: “Yeah. Right. And try convincing Meg of that.”
