Many of your points are farfetched, IMO...

1. There was no coup; Bush is the legally appointed president of the USA. The Supreme Court, mind you, interprets the constitution, and it interpreted it against popular will and for Bush. It was undemocratic but legal.

2. I really don't know what you mean by "competitive capitalization bullying," but I know that the dot-com boom was basically a realization of equality of opportunity as long as you already were qualified - if you were a bit creative and could write code then you could start a startup and eventually get rich. The bust ended it all, but overall it basically meant that a startup either collapsed completely or propsered - but there was still more equality of opportunity than before.

3. Political parties predate the mass media.

4. There isn't any evidence for any financial-media conspiracy.

5. Isn't AP independent of Reuters? And further, Reuters is pretty much a we-report-you-decide network; as evidence, the various networks and newspapers that have the very same sources can take opposite sides on any issue.

6. What evidence is there for consumerism being a conspiracy? There is an excellent explanantion why people advertise: money. $$$ has no long-term aspirations unless except for a few select corporations like M$ or AOŁ.
