My dog, Dingo, did it again. She indulged herself in a fight, this time, with the cat. Last time, she suddenly became "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," due to a dogfight and I stuffed her with oregano in peanut butter and hot camomile compresses nightly for about 5 minutes. There was never an obvious drainage nor soft spot but the condition took care of itself. Bear in mind this is a wild animal so the resistance may be greater. Since it has happened again (the Hunchback effect) I will also try the zinc recommended; if that doesn't work, the antibiotics for recurring abcesses seems a sane solution. One would think, however, that, if herbs or the natural immune system can effect such a dramatic cure, the antibiotics should cure in one course. If they don't then they're not effective. I would do the entire course, not skipping one dose.

I want to say that the resourcefulness of someone who has limited funds in discovering a cure for his/her dog is to be commended. It is my guess that 95% of our population is in her situation. Our allegedly rich country beats Russia, where there is no cash, no credit and no food, but the material status of the bulk of our population is, I think, overrated as in a dream..... As far as not having pets if you don't have money, dream on....one would also apply this maxim to homo sapiens were it not almost taboo to even THINK it!!!

MY CAT DEVELOPED AN ABCESS BEHIIND HIS RIGHT EYE. THE VET DRAINED THE ABCESS A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT THE SORE ON HIS FACE WILL NOT STOP OOZING. IT IS WHERE THE VET WENT IN TO GET BEHIND HIS EYE. HE HAS BEEN GIVEN ANTIBIOTIC SHOTS AND I CLEAN IT SEVERAL TIMES A DAY WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. IT JUST WILL NOT HEAL..IT HAS BEEN A FEW MONTHS NOW. HE WEARS ACOLLAR TO KEEP HIS PAWS AWAY FROM THE WOUND. HE IS VERY LETHARGIC, NO APPETITE AND VERY LITTLE USE OF THE LITTER BOX. I THINK HE IS IN A LOT OF DISTRESS. THE VET IS VAGUE ABOUT THE OUTCOME. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I HAVE A BAD FEELING ABOUT HIM. I DON'T WANT HIM TO SUFFER. THANX FOR YOUR KINDNESS.

Hi i read this message , because i am having a dog with something like a an abcess on his back right now ( i speak spanish so my english is not very good specialy spelling )
but what i wanted to tell u is i had a cat with abcess , and i cured him with an ointment named "iruxol " which is for humans , it does an ezymantic cleanning in ulcers , it does not let them dry on the surface until the bottom is cured , so it`s perfect for an abcess .
I first cleanned my catīs abcess with h202 peroxide ? and then softly put the ointment on the abcess hole , and it took like a week to heal .
It was very good because it did not hurt and was not scary like some sprays are ...
i dunno if u still have ur cat with this problems ...but if u do , please find out the name for "iruxol " in english itīs composition is "cloranfenicol " and "colagenasa "
and teh lab is knoll .
good luck !
Monica

I recently took my dog to a vet for a simple abcess drainage procedure. My dog was under anesthesia for 15 minutes during the operation. He was sent home with a cone to prevent the dog from licking the wound, but was not given a pain medication. My dog started panting heavily the moment he got home. It went on until the next day and I had to take him back to the vet to get reexamined. The vet took an x-ray and found fluin in his lungs. They tried to remove the fluid and was to be observed overnight at the emergency hospital. My dog did not make it on the way to the hospital. My dog died in my car, he tried to hang on so hard but I am glad he died as he was with me and not alone.

You are lucky that your pet is still alive. Had I research the cure for abcess through natural herbs or over the counter drugs, my beloved pet will still be alive today. Currently, he is in the morgue waiting to be cramated. I am so heartbroken as he was my baby for 8 years. My advise to you and to everyone is follow your gut instict. I did not follow mine. I trusted my vet's advise to have my dog get the surgery to drain the abcess, although my instict told me otherwise.
