The sight of the blood-washed charger should have brought Tori to mind. With the exception of his more Arabic countenance, his deep sorrel coloring, and the trademark lightning bolts on his back hooves, Hex was a male version of the gilded dame. His typically laid back attitude and open body language was a perfect match to his mother's. No great surprise, though, seeing as he had spent his formative years in her company. But I digress, there are more important matters to be dealt with now. Rich baritone issued forth, his lyrics polite but icily formal.

"I am Hexed, from Paradise Isle." Simple, honest, none of that infernal boasting. Firelight hadn't achieved her position by being stupid -- she had to know that he had taken his father's place as King of the Lights. No need to repeat information that was already known.

"My business? Simply a demand that you release Moonlight. I have successfully sneaked her from your lands. She is to report to Paradise Isle immediately."

Why Moonlight and not Tori and Genesis? Simple. The crimson stud was already 'negotiating' for his family's release. Moonlight, while he had never personally met the mare, was a lead in the Lights. Her terra needed her. Therefore, Hex had taken it upon himself to secure her release. Shifting his weight, he gazed steadily at the Evil queen, expression neutral and shuttered.
