One way to cover the intervening periods would be to have the team walk on after the qualifying round. It should further seperate the idea of the divisions, and might help to build some team spirit for second division teams who struggled in the qualifier.

Alternative could be to start some of the results, say beginners/novice over the first break, int/adv before holding the finals (allowing time to put the finals back in order - ie 2nd division B final first, 1st division final last.)
