My reading is that an amalgamated team is a team that represents two Member Societies. Dancing for it therefore shouldn't rule out Cambridge couples under 2.1.4.6. However, this interpretation probably requires:
* Cambridge to approve the amalgamation
* Cambridge couples to be part of no more than one amalgamated team. (Ie there can't be both a Nottingham/Cambridge team and a UEA/Cambridge team.)

I agree that if, for example, Cambridge couples dance on the Leeds team (as opposed to a Leeds/Cambridge amalgamated team), then they won't be able to dance for Cambridge at IVDA.
