Subject: Female roll models to inspire our girls?

I've seen many messages here and lots of emotion. I've been trying to put into words what I see my daughter going through since OIR without being mean or singling out any individual and I think the best thing to say is that my daughter has lost her inspiration to dance. She has never made podium in the group but been close and danced at the last two world championships where she loves to study the dancers who win higher placements and admires the skills they have that she realizes she needs to work on. After OIR two years ago, it was realizing her stamina wasn't up to par so she made it a goal to improve that and did by Worlds. After Worlds, she realized she needed more work on strength training and getting enough protein and was stronger the next time she danced. She even did some ballet after the last Worlds realizing that the girls she idolized had stronger feet and she wanted to improve her grace. She saw those girls and was inspired because she knew that those goals were attainable - they were just girls like her that were winning that had focused on skills that put them on top but she was inspired because she saw that she could be them!

After OIR this year, she looks at the top of the podium and says "I don't know what to do to compete now" as she realizes her biology cannot change and has lost all inspiration as she knows her chances of winning now have changed and doesn't see it as attainable anymore. I don't know what to tell her - try harder and work more does nothing as she has already been doing that and seems like all the love to go compete and push herself has been snuffed out by the results of our last OIR. If this continues to be the case, the same winner will be at Feis and future majors so she is thinking, why push so hard any more. It's very discouraging to see as her mother.
