 I think the issue here is that you are creating a skewed perspective with wonderous fluff rather than a full range of the person's antics on and off stage. Perfect example is what people believe about Buddy Holly based on one movie, or a couple books. Unless you get a multitude of opinions and stories, you will only end up with the same stories and misinformation repeatedly.

Talk with musicians that worked with Chuck briefly, not his superstar friends that all say the same BS. Ask how the photos impacted his victims lives. Ask how his family fought over his fortune. Unless you tackle all angles, it is just another "he was the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet" filler. Berry was a difficult and half deranged a-hole.
