 Your question was a pretty interesting one. However, to answer it properly, one would have to speculate on the status of Buddy and Maria's marriage and their behavior, including guessing what was on Buddy's mind at the time. To state things without a first hand account backed up and without facts is a dangerous road to go down and could open up legal problems.
