hey, they had their chance. it was made clear in the beginning that if they didnt support the 18+ side of the venue it would be discontinued. for 3 months they had ample opportunity to rally their friends and make it happen. we have 250+ people on our news letter list. many of them are young people who got our announcements and knew about the parties, but still they never showed up. most of the people who even go to goffee are over 21. no one under 21 has the right to complain, besides the few Die Hards we had on the 18+ side (who i personally know). why is this sad news to a group of people who were never there to begin with? we had 130+ people on the 21+ side at Futureshockk Sunday night. compare that to the 2 (count that: T W O ) on the 18+ side. Dorothy and Adam. last month there were 6 people on the 18+ side ( S I X ).

a young Maverick Cadaverick at the age of 18 was driving 3 hours on Tuesday Nights to San Francisco to go dance at Roderick's Chamber. sometimes i had school the next day. sometimes it would be 3 or 4 months until i could go again. it was a very special treat to be able to go to a club all dressed up and dance and party with cool people i longed to be around...and it still is to this day. i would have KILLED for a chance to be able to be a part of something like that when i was 18 in Fresno. but there was NOTHING. i drove 4 hours to Coven 13 in LA back in 1998 because there was no scene here at the time. the Shroud played sometimes, but there wasnt a dance club. all the clubs in Fresno at the time were 21+. and i was too young when the Light House was around. all i had was dressing spooky and hanging out at Java Cafe in the Tower. honestly i dont know what i would have done had there been a goth community in Fresno at hand for me to indulge in when i was under 21. so instead i created my own spooky world for my lonesome and went to LA and SF when i could. how dare anyone in Fresno under 21 complain about there being nothing to do, what we have created for them in the here and now isnt something to do??? there was no fresnogoth.com hosting Goffee nights and special events. even just hanging out at a cafe with neat goth people would have been a special treat for me at 18, but i was by my self in the cemetery smoking cigars atop tombstones. anyone with a bad attitude over this 18+ bull shit must realize that i and everyone else paid our dues and had to wait too. but holy hell, at least you have this website and other social events to take part in. which is waaaaay more than i had when i was under 21 in Fresno. which wasnt that long ago, im only 25. and i realize that not everyone under 21 can make it out to all the events, but you have no right to complain.

so this morning i check my inbox. 3 Emails regarding the no mas 18+ at Futureshockk. one from Astrid that is sad for the kiddies. one from a nice young lady who is bummed but ready as all hell for her 21st B-Day in September and the following Email from some dude with a bad attitude:

" "Remove" if there are no more 18+ events, then there is not point of me being on the list."

HAHAHA. who is this guy? never met him at Goffee, cause he WASNT THERE. Goffee is ALL ages by the way. he wasnt at the Pick-a-Nick last summer. and he sure as hell wasnt at Futureshockk on Sunday night! so why complain? but now I'M the bad guy cause no one 18+ came out to support it besides a few die hards. I'M the big bad wolf, even there were no piggies in the house that got blown down. boo fucking hoo.

little do any of them know how fucking hard i fought to provide 18+ events. Tokyo Tei, Barbie Q, Goffee, the Ren Faire booth... and all the long restless hours i spent for people under 21. my friends told me i was wasting my time but i still insisted on providing 18+ events. now i feel fucking stupid. but you know what, ill probably still be an idiot and try for more 18+ events because thats the kind of foolish person i am. for now im out of steam and the 18+ people can sit on it. at least theres goffee, but its probably not good enough for them.
