I got myself the nail polish I had my eye on since Tuesday as my reward for a great week last week. The sales lady talked me into buying the matching lip-gloss as well. So this is my new thing for today. Now you might ask what is this got to do with losing weight. Well last week that I stayed OP I went out four times, in which two times were tea parties with lots of sweets around. Sweets are my weakness, but I didn’t give in to temptations. At one party I had one pastry and the rest of the time I drink tea, in the other one I had two small cookies. It feel great that I was able to control myself, have a bit of treat but still stay within my points. So I am hoping next time that my sugar craving hit, I get my new nail polish and lip-gloss, put them on and think about how great I feel and how proud I am right now that I was in control last week and so I would stay in control and not give in to too much temptation. I will let you know if it worked.

I tried a new banana bread recipe and it not only delicious it is only 2 points per serving. Here is the recipe:

Banana Bread – From Better Homes and Gardens New Dieter’s Cook Book

1½ cup all-purpose flour (12)
1¼ teaspoons baking powder (0)
½ teaspoon baking soda (0)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (0)
1/8 teaspoon salt (0)
2 slightly beaten egg whites (0.5)
1 cup mashed banana (4)
¾ cup sugar (I used Splenda) (1.5)
¼ cup cooking oil (I used safflower oil) (14)
Nonstick spay coating (0)

In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
In a large mixing bow stir together egg whites, banana, sugar and oil. Stir flour mixture into banana mixture just till moistened
Spray an 8x4x2-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray coating. Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
Cool bread in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool thoroughly on a wire rack. For easier slicking, wrap the bread in plastic wrap and store overnight.
Makes 1 loaf (32 points), 16 serving (2 points each).
