Okay, I'll go first.
Who: still me, but pretty different from high school days--a lot more assertive, a lot more realistic, and a lot more optimistic, too! I met my husband, Martin, over the internet three years ago, and we got married in July. My ex-boyfriends and ex-husband are still good friends, but Martin is my best friend.
What: I've been a secretary, silversmith's assistant, mortgage loan officer, and a junior real estate appraiser. I started working for a large engineering firm in 1990 as a copy editor, then a project administrator (with 5 years on a highway/tunnel construction site in Hawaii), and am now a computer graphics "do-er" and trainer. I train people in graphics software, desktop publishing, photo retouching, and presentation skills, and I love it! Unfortunately, I don't have much time these days for hobbies except for the occasional website, reading (both fiction and non), and playing PC games.
Where: I came to London in 1997 as the oldest exchange student ever, I suspect, after finally going back to college and getting a degree in International Studies from Hawaii Pacific University. In 2003, the where will be in the States, though--most likely San Antonio, Austin, or Sarasota, Florida. Since Martin is British, we are now dealing with a sea of immigration paperwork, courtesy of the INS.
And short answers to my posted questions before they get archived:
1. I regret not having kept up with drum lessons and bought a drum kit (although I couldn't afford them at the time anyway)
2. The best place I've been: New Zealand, although my favorite place is Cozumel (what is it with me and islands?!)
3. Think - Laugh - Forgive
4. Literature, because it has more ways to get into your mind and heart than art does
Now it's your turn!
